From Epimenides to the Parmenides*
In the report we will try to indicate analogies to the Cretan paradox in Plato’s texts. The key point is the 7 and 8 hypotheses of «Parmenides» (Parm. 164b - 166c), in which one can see potential parallels between the paradoxical sides of Plato’s dialectic and the Cretan paradox formulated by Eubulides. It seems to us that this moment of the Platonic dialectic also turns out to be a resource for the future “skeptical turn” in the Academy.
