On the interpretation of the paideia in the Plato’s Republic (Werner Jaeger and Martin Heidegger)
There is no complete paideia’s concept in any Plato’s texts. W. Jaeger offers to read the paideia as political project for educating an ideal man. M. Heidegger appeals to the allegory of the cave excluding other contexts (like context of «Republic», Plato’s philosophy in general etc.) The report’s showing that both interpretations don’t disagree, but rather complement each other. I’m offering common bases for the synthesis of interpretations.
