Anti-Christian polemic in the 2nd century CE in the context of post-Hellenistic philosophy
In the II century AD there are a number of specific historical and philosophical arguments which can be found in the texts of Christians and their opponents; their nature and value stay unclear without investigating intellectual context of time. Consideration of contemporary philosophical traditions – primarily Platonism and stoicism – cast light on the problem.
